I was wandering through Florence with Alexandra hunting for some good street-style to send to Elle UK when I took these photos.
It was 1 PM, the sun was really fierce, 38 °C was the temperature and the city center was full of tourists only. I had really not many hopes to find someone interesting around so I thought at least I’ll have a walk through the alleys that I love so much.
I love walking in the smallest streets of Florence in Summer because of the light. They’re often in the shadow because they’re so narrow, but the way the light filters through the rooftops and hits only some corners of the street is so interesting. And it’s like a kaleidoscope: the sun changes every hour its position and intensity and shows you always different shadows and colors.
I was resting in the shadow and taking a few pics of this street when I saw this girl passing and I stopped for a photo.
She’s dressed in a very typical way for Florence girls: an oversize shirt and skinny jeans, but I really like the proportions of her outfit and the touch of color of the bag and shoes.
An oversize cotton shirt is such a smart way to defeat the heat. It looks big and heavy but it’s much more fresh and pleasant to wear than a stretch micro-top.
Her bracelet is so cool too. It’s vintage and I like the fact that it’s the only precious thing she’s wearing.
She shows very well that you can be very very nice even with a really simple outfit, doesn’t she?
