Such a long time again, uh?
How are you?
I’m starting to feel better… Right now I’m in Italy with my family and I’m kinda having a beauty/soul treatment made of sun, food and lots of family love (sometimes it’s the only thing that you need…)
A few days ago I made a couple of drawings after almost a month (if you follow me on facebook you should have seen a little preview) and it felt so good… So something tells me I’ll come back to regular posting sooner than I thought :)
I’m not really able to write my usual encyclopedia-long posts (guess you’ll be so sorry… ahah) but these days the need to talk about some frivolous girly things with you is becoming compelling (still don’t know if it’s because of the heat or the fact that I had so heavy days that I really need something completely different…)
So in these Italian days that taste so much like summer (finally! In Belgium the weather is worse than crap) I’d like to show you one thing: my summer beauty favorites.
In summer my beauty routine gets really minimal, but there are a few products that I can’t really live without. First of all, a nice perfume.
There is this thing that I love to do in summer: smelling the warm skin of my arms after I’ve been outside for a while and feeling my favorite perfume mixed with the summer heat and the natural smell of my skin. It’s something that makes me hyper body-conscious and I love it.
And this summer my scent is Narciso Rodriguez For Her (the pink one, not the black)
It’s so good!!
Tomorrow I’ll show you another of my summer staples, but tell me: what is your favorite perfume right now?
Kisses!
Al
PS: thank you so much for all your comments, e-mails, tweets and support in general. It moved me to tears. I love you!!

Quanto ti fermi in Toscana?
Presto ti scrivo! Un bacione
Ahh its so glad to have you back, i am so happy to hear you are starting to feel better i really am :)
Now unfortunately I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT PERFUME *slaps wrist* so i am useless to this post i guess. Even men’s perfume its like *whooooosh* over my head ahaha
However i am on Summer break and jobless SO i have the time to comment on the blog i know Al try to control the excitement *breathe*
It really is lovely to see you posting again
Adam x
Thank you Adam, feels good for me as well to post again… It’s a symbol of normality, that I really need right now…
I have to say that most of the times I don’t like men’s perfumes… Only when they really suit the person and are applied with moderation :D which is something that most men ignore how to do apparently ahah
Kiss!
Applied?…With moderation :o YOU MEAN WE’RE NOT MEANT TO BATHE IN IT!!! Shit that’s were we’ve been going wrong xD
Sono contenta di rileggerti. :-)
Grazie Lisa :)
thank god, you’re back and the way you’re dealing with your pain – kudos to you, Al!
summer scents – that’s one interesting topic. i’ve been using the old prada scent (amber) for a long time, but only in dubai. as soon as i go to cold germany for example i cannot stand the smell of it. now i’ve discovered the old balenciaga for myself. but i’m really difficult when it comes to perfumes. getting a headache easily. wanna try the narciso rodriguez now – wonder how it will smell like? i believe a scent also tells you a lot about the person who ‘wears’ it. :)
have a wonderful time with your family, let them take care of you and recover quickly, Al! i think of you xo
As you say, I think that for perfumes the places you live in are very important too. For example I always wear different fragrances in summer and winter, and sometimes even tend to use different ones in Italy and Belgium.
Narciso Rodriguez is very fresh and delicate but sensual and powerful together, which is a mix I find very rare in a perfume… Try it! :)
I think of you too dear Kazuko xxx
Great to have you back!
Thank you Milla!!
Reading my e-mails this morning I feel happy I saw ” Red Dot “.
Yes it was a long time we hear about you , but its summertime and like we say in flemish , komkommertijd !!!
My favourite perfume today is ” Escale à Portofino ” Dior because even in Belgium it can be very hot but not for a long time ! “Alliage ” Estée Lauder is my summerfavorite since 35 years , that’s the one my houseband allways recognise and then he smiles , haha. In winter I choose ” l’Heure bleue ” Guerlain and since last year ” Shalimar parfum initial ” Guerlain , gorgeous .
So I told you a lot of my secrets . Relax and enjoy your stay in Italy …family and friends , sun and nice food , the best therapy !
Kind regards ,
Martine Demey-Lejeune
Gent
P.S. Maybe you know “Korres ” greek products , showergel , shampoos …and naturale perfumes , high quality , there is a flagship store in Paris .
Oh Martine, you’re from Gent too!
I know there’s such a huge heat wave there now… I don’t know why I’m always somewhere else during the few days of sunny Belgium and come back together with the rain -__- so annoying!
Never tried Korres products but everyone is saying wonders about them… Right now I’m in love with Caudalie… I’ll write about a couple of products in the next days, they’re really great!
a huge kiss, and thank you for you super nice comment!
