The Reality Show by Araki

The Reality Show By Araki on Nowness.com.

L’atmosfera dark e tagliente mescolata a elementi glam e allo stesso tempo delicata ed eterea è meravigliosa e complessa, completa.

Erotismo… E’ realismo erotico.

  4. Oh girl last week I was suffering from no inspiration and this week I’m suffering from too much!! After days spent in bookmarc and other fabulous stores scouring for creative visions I’ve finally found some and then I come here and I’m pushed that much more to spend my nights painting. I love your interpretation of your reference. I love your passion, your devotion. I love you.

    Meag xx

Meag, tell me, why are you always able to almost make me cry? Seriously, I’m a big girl! I shouldn’t do this! :D
Your opinion is very very very important to me, I think almost the most important because I consider you a great artist. And the fact that you see al these things in what I do… is just immense. I really didn’t realize how much I missed your comments until you started to write here again. God, I’m so glad you’re back.
      Love you too xxx

what a wonderful, wonderful post. your illustration is fan-tas-tic! (still thinking of how to steer your career into the fashion illustrator direction ;) )

i’m running out of words for this video. how many talented people came together for this piece of art! and finally something more provocative (i do like all those pretty boho inspired spots and lookbooks floating in the fashion (blogger) space – but this… this is truly another level!)

yohji yamamoto… i had neglected his designs for a while i have to admit, but now i’m totally high on them again (oh, the “bikini” top with the coat. the boots… the red outfit…

thanks for putting all this together, al. amazing! xoxoxo

    • Al says:

ahahaha Kazuko dear, how I would live without you? Your comments arrive always in the moment I wake up and it’s the best way to start the day :D

But I’m sorry to tell you, I’m not going to abandon my medicine PhD before I got that fuckin’ piece of paper: I’ve spilled too much blood, tears, sweat and time on it to just abandon it like this after 2 years. GO AND CONQUER!! ahahah here it is, now you met the super-stubborn Al (of course this is not valid anymore in case Vogue calls me with a $$$ contract for my illustrations LOL)

This video is… I don’t know, I’m speechless. I just keep watching it since saturday and believe me, people are starting to think I am a bit autistic. And the Yamamoto pieces are more than great… putting them together with the video was like an orgasm (LOL and I know you know what I mean, because we have almost the same tastes)

Totally agree with you on the boho thing, especially the vintage-chic style… Sometimes I browse through dozens of blogs and it’s like looking always at the same… I understand that there is a trend but when it’s too much it’s too much. Also on sites like ASOS and the like it’s like this now… But this gives me much more pleasure when I find something that I like on the internet, it’s like a treasure :D (and your blog is one of them)

  6. Anna says:

first of all the illustration is amazing! It’s so nice that everytime I visit your blog I see a different kind of illustration!
This photoshoot must be amazing…it looks like a Japanese version of Tom Ford philosophy…he’s all about eroticism too.

    • Al says:

      Thank you my dear!!!
LOL but I think that the difference in illustration is due to the fact that I still have to reach my style… and also maybe it is that when I get so much inspiration from something I tend to completely change my style and follow the mood :D
Yep also Tom Ford is very erotic but comparing him to this I see a huge difference (in my opinion): he lacks that subtle shade of mistery that makes everything so special and not vulgar at all

  7. Tinneke says:

You have formulated it perfectly! : “I think I love this video so much for the perfect balance between the personal style of the models, high fashion and erotism.
This dark and sharp atmosphere mixed with glam elements and at the same time so delicate and ethereal is wonderful and so complex, complete.” I couldn’t say it better what I think about it, so I just copy-paste your lines, hope you don’t mind ;-)
    Looove the illustration, it’s beautiful!

I love how your illustration has an inky black palette. It totally fits the reality show magazine. Interesting how we blogged about it at almost the same time.

  9. BaiLing says:
